Leafpool's Family... With Real Genetics

SPOILER ALERT:

Now I've done Crowfeather and Leafpool's families, we can see how 2 of the Three would look, and if the post doesn't get too long, Lionblaze's kits.

Leafpool and Crowfeather

If you needed a reminder of what they both looked like, here you go.

Hollyleaf

So Hollyleaf would be a black tabby she-cat with ginger patches like her mum. The black gene in tabbies shows up as brown with black stripes, and that comes from her father Crowfeather. It would be impossible to have her canon design, as the tabby gene is dominant, and her mother Leafpool has the AA tabby gene, so it would be impossible for her to be a solid black cat. Her genes would be XOXo, Bbl, Dd, Aa, McMc, ww.

Lionblaze

And now we move onto the first of the Three, Lionblaze is well known for his golden tabby fur and his thick neck fluff. However, genetically speaking, this would be impossible as his parents don't have either the long fur gene or the golden gene. He would have to be a red tabby tom as his mother's tortoiseshell colouring translates into red colouration in males. This makes him look very like his grandfather Firestar. He is also masking the black tabby gene. His genes would be XOY, Bbl, DD, Aa, McMc, ww.

Jayfeather

The second of the Three, Jayfeather, couldn't be a light grey tabby as his mother doesn't have the dilution gene. Therefore he has to be a black tabby like his sister Hollyleaf, although without the red patches. I tried to make his design lighter and greyer, to make him as close as possible to canon. His genes would be XoY, Bbl, DD, Aa, McMc, ww.
