Crowfeather's Family... With Real Genetics

So now onto Crowfeather's family. I'm moving slightly away from ThunderClan but of course (spoiler alert) Crowfeather has ThunderClan kits. So here we go!

Ashfoot's Side

Palebird

First we go to Palebird, Ashfoot's maternal grandmother, who had two mates. Fun fact did you know that Crowfeather is related to Tallstar through Palebird? Her genes are LL, XoXo, BB, DD, aa, McMc, Wswg.

Woollytail

Woollytail was Palebird's second mate. He became Palebird's mate after Sandgorse's death. He keeps his canon design of a grey and white tom and his genes are LL, XoY, BB, dd, aa, McMc, Wsw.

Wrenflight

Wrenflight was the only one of Palebird and Woollytail's kits that survived to warriorhood. The books say she was a solid brown she-cat, but since both of her parents have the black gene this wouldn't be possible unless they were both had a recessive chocolate gene. However, since we don't know their genetic background I made them both BB. She would be a black and white she-cat like her mother. Her genes are LL, XoXo, BB, Dd, aa, McMc, Wswg.

Mistmouse

Now to Ashfoot's paternal grandmother, who is Mistmouse. She keeps her canonical design of a light brown tabby she-cat, and so I will give her the dilution gene. Therefore her genes are LL, XoXo, bb, dd, AA, McMc, ww.

Hareflight

Ashfoot's paternal grandfather, and Mistmouse's mate, is Hareflight. He keeps his canonical design of a light brown tom, therefore he gets the dilution as well. His genes are LL, XoY, bb, dd, aa, McMc, ww.

Stagleap

Wrenflight's mate is Stagleap of WindClan, not ThunderClan. He is depicted as a dark brown tom, however due to his mother being a tabby, he must also be a tabby. Furthermore, since both of his parents have the recessive dilution gene, he must light brown, or lilac. His genes are LL, XoY, bb, dd, Aa, McMc, ww.

Ashfoot

Ashfoot was Crowfeather's mother. She is shown as a grey she-cat in the books, but due to her mother having a dominant non-dilute gene, she would be black. Also due to her mother having white spotting, she would need to have white spotting. Her genes are LL, XoXo, Bb, Dd, aa, McMc, Wsw.

Deadfoot's Side

Meadowslip

Meadowslip was Deadfoot's mother, and a light grey she-cat. Her genes are LL, XoXo, BB, dd, aa, McMc, ww.

Hickorynose

Hickorynose was Deadfoot's father. He was a dark brown tom and his genes are LL, XoY, bb, DD, aa, McMc, ww.

Deadfoot

Now Deadfoot, Ashfoot's mate and Crowfeather's father. He is depicted as a black tom with a twisted paw in the books and that description is actually spot on! Because black is dominant over brown, and non-dilute is dominant over dilute, Deadfoot would be black. His genes are LL, XoY, Bb, Dd, aa, McMc, ww.

Crowfeather

And what about Crowfeather. Would he still be the dark grey cat we all know and love? Well the answer is... kind of. Crowfeather is said to be so grey he appears as black, and that is what he is supposed to be: black. However, clicking the calculate button on the Kitten Generator throws up a few interesting kits. Crowfeather could have been black, grey, have had white spotting or even been dark or light brown. His genes in this case are LL, XoY, BB, DD, aa, McMc, ww.
